The launching of the 7th
Dipolog Pagsalabuk Festival was successfully opened last May 23, 2005,
4:00 o’clock in the afternoon at the City Hall Building Annex.
Another attraction to bear with the afternoon is the one of a kind artwork
of our fellow Dipolognon artists with their visual art exhibit. Visitors,
men and women of the media and employees of the city spared some of their
time to witness the momentous occasion. City Mayor Roberto Y. Uy with his
beloved wife, First Lady Evelyn Uy and assisted by Hon. Alton Ratificar
together with Miss Cheryl Laranjo, the Mutya sa Dipolog 2004 and Ms. Jivem
Rose Lim 1st Runner Up Mutya sa Dipolog 2004, formally opened
the Dipolog Pagsalabuk Festival by a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Tribo Dipag, the ethnic musicians of Dipolog City, also hails the occasion
with their soul-captivating and nature-inspired Neo-Ethnic music.
At about 5:00 o’ clock in the afternoon, the candidates of the Mutya sa
Dipolog 2005 graciously wave as they proudly stand in their respective
floats (the mini ford sponsored by JOPAH MOTORS). The peaceful streets of
Dipolog were suddenly awaken by the rhythm of the Dipolog City executive
band, the heart pumping beat of the drums of the Tribo Dipag and the
yelling of the astonished people on the streets. The motorcade ended at
the Foreshore and Dev’t Project where in a lot more fun waits. Another
ribbon cutting was done to formally open the Agro Trade and Food Fair.
Then, Hon. Alton Ratificar, the Dipolog Pagsalabuk Festival 2005 chairman
gave his warm message, reminding us of the real meaning of Pagsalabuk,
from the Subanen word meaning, Panaghiusa ug Panagpundok.
A feast will not be a feast without foods. So to satisfy everybody’s
craving, the government of Dipolog offered the Dipolognon and its visitors
a Spanish Style Sardines Eating Spree. Followed by a breath taking
fireworks display that lasted for about ten minutes and as a grand finale
for the tiresome yet joyful day, the Tribo Dipag again entertained
everyone with a mini-concert by their Neo-Ethnic Concert. |

Hon. Alton Ratificar,
Chairman of the Dipolog Pagsalabuk
Festival, gave his warm message, reminding us of the real meaning of
Pagsalabuk, from the Subanen word meaning, Panaghiusa ug
Panagpundok or Unity and Cooperation.
